I bought my pedometer a couple of weeks back. Read here more about it.

I bought it from Amazon… I haven’t really shopped on Amazon before (I know… sounds ludicrous, but for most things I have found better prices elsewhere). In any case, Amazon shipping was GREAT. When I bought it the target delivery date was June 13 but I got it on June 10! Good job, Amazon!

In any case, the pedometer is really nice!!! I love it! When you take it out of the box, you have to put your battery in. Once it boots up you have to measure your stride length. The instructions in the manual are great. From start (putting the battery in) to using it (walking with it) took me all of 10 minutes. I think it is pretty accurate and reliable. I have dropped it like 5 times (not on purpose) and it still works great.

The only drawback is that the pedometer is always falling off from my pants and I have to keep putting it back in. The saving grace is it has a little clip on it that you can use to clip on your pants which helps a lot. Without this clip I think I would have possibly broken this already.

All in all, it does a great job of keeping my last 7 days count in its memory and works great. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Lets go walking…

Yesterday I decided that I need to start walking more. Many reasons for this decision – main one being weather. It is too nice outside to not be able to spend some time outdoors with friends and family.

So what would I need to start my walking routing? I made a list:
– good pair of shoes
– pedometer – this one is really hard… I think it is very hard to find a good pedometer that actually counts your steps correctly.
– plan – where will I go for a walk? With someone? When?

I think I might be OK with my shoes, for now. I would eventually like to buy a pair that firms your butt. I think I will wait on it till I actually get my routine set.

I spent hours trying to find a good pedometer yesterday. I searched through numerous sites and eventually ordered the Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer. There are many sites that offered this pedometer at various prices. I bought it from Amazon – they had my money once they threw in free shipping. I cannot wait for it to arrive. I plan on writing a review on it, so stay tuned.

I don’t have a concrete plan yet. I think I am going to start slow and go for a walk around my office building. Enjoy the sun a little, the wind through my hair… AH summer. (That’s right, no spring here!).
